To kick start our honeymoon we decided to get our scuba diving certifications. We managed to do the open water and the advanced open water in 6 days (including 1 rest day). We did night dives, sunrise dives, shipwreck, drift and deep and lots more. Really good fun and Amed has enough to explore for both courses.
Wow, Wow, Wow! Could not recommend any other place to go if you are looking at diving in Amed. Myself and my friend completed our Advanced Open Water course (followed by a number of fun dives), with Wayan and the team at Bali Dive Cove. The whole experience was seamless!
With eight dives included, this package offers a more complete East Bali experience, combining Amed reef diving, the USAT Liberty Wreck, Tulamben reefs and the flexibility to explore additional sites across the region.
Amed’s reefs provide the perfect balance to your Tulamben dives, with calm conditions, healthy coral and relaxed dive profiles.
• Jemeluk Drop Off (Jemeluk Wall) – A combination of reef plateau and sloping wall, offering a varied dive with coral growth, reef fish and occasional turtles
• Amed Pyramids – A unique reef site where artificial pyramid structures have become part of the natural reef, attracting turtles, schools of fish and a wide range of macro life
A key highlight of the trip is diving the USAT Liberty Wreck, with the option to dive at sunrise or later in the morning.
• USAT Liberty Wreck – A shallow, coral-covered wreck accessible from shore, stretching from around 5 to 30 metres and home to large schools of fish, reef species and macro life
We include two dives on the Liberty, allowing you to explore different sections of the wreck:
– The first dive focuses on the outer structure and layout
– The second dive offers the option to explore swim-throughs and more detailed areas (or Coral Gardens or the Tulamben Drop Off instead)
Sunrise dives are optional and offer quieter conditions and increased marine activity.
You’ll also explore Tulamben beyond the wreck, adding more variety to your diving.
• Coral Gardens – A colourful, shallow reef with vibrant coral formations and a high density of reef fish
• Tulamben Drop Off – A dramatic reef and wall dive where a coral slope transitions into deep blue water, creating a strong sense of depth and open space
With extra dive days included, you’ll have the flexibility to explore a wider range of East Bali dive sites based on your interests.
Options may include:
• Kubu Wreck – A smaller, quieter wreck with excellent coral growth and visibility
• Japanese Wreck + Lipah Beach or Lean Wall – A mix of wreck and reef, often paired for a varied dive day
• Bunutan + Amed Wall (boat dives) – Drift dives with the chance to encounter larger pelagic species
• Muck diving sites – Ideal for macro lovers, with unique critters hidden in sandy environments
Some of these sites may be better suited to Advanced Open Water level or divers with more experience, depending on conditions.
There is a surcharge of 50,000 IDR site tax for Kubu, the Japanese Wreck and any muck diving sites.
Dive plans are finalised based on sea conditions, diver experience and your preferences. Contact us or mention your interests when booking and we can tailor the experience to you.
