The PADI Open Water + Advanced package is designed for those who want to learn to dive and continue progressing without interruption. Starting as a complete beginner, you’ll build your skills step by step before moving on to more advanced dives that increase your confidence, awareness and overall diving ability.
With small groups and personalised instruction throughout, the course is structured to give you time to learn, practise and enjoy each stage of your diving journey.
This extended Learn & Stay package combines both the PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses, giving you a complete introduction to diving followed by the opportunity to build confidence and experience across a range of dive sites.
Over five days of diving, you’ll progress from shallow water training through to deeper and more advanced dives, including the option to dive the USAT Liberty shipwreck and experience navigation, drift and deep diving.
Accommodation is provided in a comfortable private double or twin room located directly behind the dive centre, offering a convenient and well-connected base in Amed.

This package is designed for beginners who want to progress further than a standard Open Water course and gain more experience in a single trip.
It works particularly well for:
• Complete beginners who want to continue straight through to Advanced level
• Travellers staying in Bali for around a week or more
• Divers wanting to build confidence across multiple dive sites and conditions
• Those interested in experiencing deeper dives, navigation and wreck diving early in their diving journey
It’s ideal for anyone who prefers a structured but continuous learning experience without needing to book multiple separate courses.
To join this course, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
• Minimum age of 10 years
• Able to swim 200 metres (any style, no time limit)
• Able to float or tread water for 10 minutes
• In good general health and comfortable in the water
You will also be required to complete a standard medical questionnaire before diving. If you answer “yes” to any medical conditions, clearance from a doctor may be needed prior to the course.
No previous diving experience is required.
To kick start our honeymoon we decided to get our scuba diving certifications. We managed to do the open water and the advanced open water in 6 days (including 1 rest day). We did night dives, sunrise dives, shipwreck, drift and deep and lots more. Really good fun and Amed has enough to explore for both courses.
Wow, Wow, Wow! Could not recommend any other place to go if you are looking at diving in Amed. Myself and my friend completed our Advanced Open Water course (followed by a number of fun dives), with Wayan and the team at Bali Dive Cove. The whole experience was seamless!
Day 1
Arrival in Amed, check in and relax.
Day 2
Begin Open Water course with shallow water training and Open Water Dive 1 in Amed.
Day 3
Continue Open Water training and complete Open Water Dive 2.
Day 4
Open Water Dives 3 and 4, typically at the USAT Liberty wreck. These dives are often scheduled at sunrise for the best conditions.
Day 5
Begin Advanced Open Water course including Navigation and an additional adventure dive.
Day 6
Complete Deep Dive and remaining adventure dives.
Theory for both courses is completed online, either before arrival or in your own time during the course.
The schedule is flexible and may be adjusted depending on how each diver is progressing, as well as sea conditions and dive planning.
Throughout the course, you’ll dive a variety of sites across Amed and Tulamben, carefully selected to match your progression from beginner to more advanced diving.
Jemeluk Bay (Amed)
Jemeluk Bay is used for your initial Open Water training and early dives. With easy shore access and a gently sloping reef, it provides a comfortable environment to build your skills and confidence. It is also often used later in the course for navigation and night diving.
USAT Liberty Wreck (Tulamben)
The USAT Liberty is a highlight of both courses. During your Open Water course, you’ll explore the shallower sections of the wreck (up to 18 metres), before returning during your Advanced course for deeper dives (up to 30 metres).
These dives are often scheduled at sunrise for the best conditions and a quieter experience.
Tulamben Drop Off (Optional)
If preferred, the Tulamben Drop Off can be selected instead of a wreck dive. This site offers a sloping reef that transitions into a wall, providing a different environment while still allowing you to complete your training dives.
Amed Pyramids
The Amed Pyramids are commonly used for drift diving during your Advanced course. The site features artificial reef structures integrated into the natural reef, with gentle currents that allow you to practise drift diving in a controlled and manageable setting.
Additional dive sites may be included depending on conditions and your progress, ensuring a varied and well-rounded diving experience.
