The Tulamben Liberty Experience is a two-dive trip centred around Bali’s most famous dive site, the USAT Liberty Wreck. Located just a short drive from Amed, this site offers a completely different underwater landscape, combining a coral-covered shipwreck with abundant marine life.
With two dives on the wreck, you’ll have the chance to explore different sections and experience how the site changes with depth, light and marine activity.

This package is available for certified divers holding at least a Scuba Diver certification or equivalent.
To kick start our honeymoon we decided to get our scuba diving certifications. We managed to do the open water and the advanced open water in 6 days (including 1 rest day). We did night dives, sunrise dives, shipwreck, drift and deep and lots more. Really good fun and Amed has enough to explore for both courses.

This package typically includes two dives on the USAT Liberty Wreck, allowing you to experience different sections of the site. However, you also have the option to combine the wreck with a nearby reef dive if you prefer more variety.
• USAT Liberty Wreck – One of the most accessible wreck dives in the world, located just metres from shore. The wreck lies along a gentle slope from around 5 to 30 metres and is fully covered in coral, turning it into a thriving artificial reef.
Most divers choose to complete two dives on the Liberty, as each dive offers a different experience:
– The first dive typically explores the outer structure, giving you a sense of the wreck’s size, layout and coral growth
– The second dive allows for more detailed exploration, including swim-throughs and areas with changing light and structure
Expect large schools of fish, reef species, macro life and occasional larger pelagic visitors. The site continues to change throughout the day, which is why repeat dives are so rewarding.
If you prefer a mix of wreck and reef, your second dive can be done at one of Tulamben’s nearby sites:
• Coral Gardens – A shallow, colourful reef located beside the Liberty Wreck, known for vibrant coral formations, anemones and a high density of reef fish
• Tulamben Drop Off – A dramatic reef and wall dive where a coral slope transitions into a steep drop into deep blue water, offering a very different feel compared to the wreck
